Overdue Films is hosting a benefit for their upcoming release, Those Ingenious Mechanical Toys, a modern day fairy tale about a robot named Felix who is trapped in a futuristic dystopia. The event will take place Saturday July 25 at the Belmont Lions Club, 1 Common Street in Belmont, with doors opening at 6:30pm. For $25, attendees will enjoy a gourmet dinner by chef Richard Chudy, music by Lydia Warren and Aaron Jackson, a special screening of the film trailer, a silent auction and more. The star of the film, Jon Clark, will be in character for the event. Guests will receive $5 off admission by bringing a stuffed animal donation for Project Smile.

Overdue Films founder Jean-Paul DiSciscio feels the current global economic situation presents new and exciting ways for communities to participate in art and cinema, and has decided to forgo the traditional film financing route to create a truly independent production. Those Ingenious Mechanical Toys will be funded solely by the public, and donors will receive production credits based on their donation amounts.
